Basketball Teams Dribble thru Another Year

The 2008-2009 basketball, team led by Coach Morrow, started conditioning after school began in August, which consisted of ball handling, transitions, and defensive drills during practice.

BHS Prancers Receive Recognition

Being on the dance team takes a lot of hard work, skill and dedication. This year, a group of girls gave one hundred and ten percent during all performances.

 

“Prancers try out in the spring for the following year. Tryouts consist of learning dances and perfecting skills including jumps, leaps, and turns. Students are selected for the team by out-of-town judges. Once the team is chosen, girls begin practicing for the following year. Mandatory practices and camps are held during the summer. Prancers perform for pep rallies, football and basketball games. They also compete at the AAA State Dance Competition held in the fall,” stated Mrs. Wilson, Prancer coach. Swim Team Hopeful for Next Season

The Batesville Swim Team had been active this year, competing in meets and growing as a team. Team members include Andrew Cox, Catie Mitchell, and Jennifer Baker, along with four junior high students.

 

Sophomore Jennifer Baker commented, “We’re a small team. It’d be amazing if we could recruit more. Anyone interested should definitely join!” Read the rest of this entry »
