Key Club Hosts Spring Events at BHS

On Monday February 2, Batesville High School’s Key Club hosted a blood drive with the American Red Cross.
Forty-nine students successfully gave blood, with 60 students attempting to give blood.
“Normally I hate getting the life force sucked out of me, but this time the nurses made it amusing,” Heather Norman stated, after giving blood.
Many reasons that a student cannot give blood is; not weighing enough or if a student is on any type of medication. “It’s unselfish to give blood, and it’s a great way to possibly save someone’s life,” Key Club sponsor Ms. McCord stated
The Key Club will be hosting another Blood Drive soon but the date has yet to be set.
The BHS Key Club attended the District Key Club Convention in Springdale,Missouri. The convention was March 6-8.
Sophomore Danielle Brazier was selected to serve on a committee.
In April Key Club members volunteered at the Special Olympics which were held at Southside School on April 3-4.
New officers for the 2009-2010 year have been elected also. The President is Michael Palese, Vice Priesident is Erin Richards, Secretary is Ashleigh Rogers, Treaurer is Kaitlin Hardin, and the Reporter is Hannah Sturch.
“Key Club has been a wonderful eye opening experince, and I have enjoyed it so far,” Hannah Sturch stated.
